Frozen Giant Tiger Prawns
Frozen Giant Tiger Prawns
Sourced from clean marine waters and flash-frozen at peak freshness, these large, shell-on prawns are instantly recognisable by their dark banded shells. The meat is firm, plump and succulent, with a rich sweetness that survives the freezer beautifully.
Why You'll Love It
- Large, uniform prawns kept whole with head and shell on
- Rapid flash-freezing seals in juiciness and sweet ocean flavour
- Firm, plump, tender meat with a low fishy aroma
- The shell holds moisture in, so the meat stays succulent as it cooks
- Superb grilled, pan-seared, baked, curried, deep-fried or boiled
- Great for barbecues, festive dinners and entertaining guests
Cooking Suggestions
Thaw slowly in the refrigerator before preparing.
Grilled: Leave the shells on, season with sea salt and spices, and grill until they turn bright red.
Pan-seared or curried: Sear for a fast gourmet plate, or simmer in a creamy curry for a richer dish.
They also bake well with garlic butter. Do not overcook — too much heat makes them tough and chewy — and peel and devein as your recipe requires.
Storage
Keep frozen at -18°C or below. Thaw in the refrigerator and do not refreeze once completely thawed. Keep the packaging well sealed to avoid freezer burn.
